India’s motorcycle market took a hit in 2020, with total sales falling to 14.8 million units (a drop of-23.3%) .

But sales recovered strongly in the fourth quarter, with a 32% increase in December, mainly as the resilience of rural areas increased the market share of Indian manufacturers. The range of data covered includes electric vehicles, mopeds and scooters. The figures also include commercial tricycles, which are very popular in India.
